Why 8vo?
For a change of pace, you can pronounce it ‘eightvo’ as I’ve written it in the url. An 8vo is one unit of size, based on the number of times printed sheets have been folded to make a book. In the 16th century, the Aldine Press in Venice combined scholarly credibility with high aesthetic quality in this format. It was small, easy to carry in your pocket, and easier to produce in larger quantities. Ultimately the name of this site aspires to translate the elegance of the 8vo into digital form.
